Yoga Off The Mat


imageAt the end of yoga this morning, we were guided to review our intention. Mine was to burn calories to lose weight. I know. Very deep.

So during savasana, instead of experiencing what is meant to be the corpse pose, my mind swirled in thoughts of what ideal weight I wanted to be and what weight was I when I was a size 12. Would size 12 be okay? Maybe I need to just shoot for a 7. But maybe that’s unrealistic…

A bit of fear came up about losing weight. Stop thinking! Corpse pose–rest, total peace…quiet mind and body…

Then the idea of emerging out of the extra weight came up. I don’t need to let go of the protection weight seems to provide me, but just open up.

And just in time for spring!
